Community Connections
In addition to our weekly classes, we provide opportunities to give back to our community. This enhances what happens in our loving and nurturing environment. Some of these include:
HollyFest
HollyFest is a family-friendly event that celebrates Holly Springs and all the people, places and services that the community has to offer. HollyFest features local artists, businesses, food vendors, children’s activities, and local entertainment; this free event is a Holly Springs tradition.
BugFest
BugFest is a yearly experience with over 100 exhibits, crafts, games and activities. This festival provides the opportunity for kids of all ages to interact with entomologists and other scientists to continue learning about the fascinating world of bugs!
SPARKcon
SPARKcon is an interdisciplinary creativity, art & design festival produced by the non-profit creativity incubator, Visual Art Exchange, in Raleigh NC.
HSSOD has participated in SPARKcon for more than 20 years!
Trunk or Treat
This is a free and fun community event where our dance family signs up to volunteer their car as a trick or treat shop! Come in costume and join us for games and goodies!
Fall Festival
This annual event is an opportunity for our dance community to come together and support Springs Dance Company, our school's non-profit company. Join us for performances, food trucks, games, open dance night, and a silent auction!
Shining Stars
A dance program created since 2006 that creates a class specifically designed for kids with special needs. This free class is open to anyone in the community who has a child that could benefit from this fun class and takes place the 1st Saturday of each month from 10am- 11am.
Raleigh Christmas Parade
The Raleigh Christmas Parade presented by Shop Local Raleigh is typically held at the end of November and rebroadcast on Christmas morning. Join us for the largest Christmas Parade between Washington, DC and Atlanta as our senior company performs for you over a 1+ mile parade route!
Fuquay-Varina Parade
HSSOD has been a part of the Fuquay-Varina Christmas Parade for over 10 years! Come see as our company dancers perform in early December on a parade route that takes them through the historic downtown Fuquay district!
Holly Springs Parade
We have been a part of The Happy Holly Days Christmas Parade since the beginning! Come see our “sea of red and white” as we have 500+ dancers walk down main street! This holiday event is open to all dancers at HSSOD!
Holiday Cabaret
For 20 years, HSSOD has produced this holiday concert to serve our community through dance. By sharing our gifts we’ve raised over $100,000 for both Relay for Life and the Meg’s Smile Foundation! Teaching our dancers to use their gifts and talents to serve the community is at the very foundation of the learning happening at the studio.
Retirement Communities
We visit with senior citizens each year around the holidays to share performances at retirement communities. We love to see the joy on the faces of our audience members!
Father/Daughter Dance
This is a very special night where dancers and their favorite adult can join us for an evening of dancing and refreshments. This event is planned, organized and hosted each year by either our Costa Rica dance mission team or our Macy's dancers!
Dance Theatre
This is an additional performance opportunity for our students who are interested in Ballet. Interested dancers audition each December for a production that happens at the end of February. Dancers rehearse and perform with Springs Ballet Company in this annual event.
Senior Solo Concert
“Dance As If No One Is Watching” - This annual event is a student produced concert where members of Springs Dance Company share original choreography through three concerts in March. Sr. Co. is also responsible for all artistic decision, marketing, and ticket sales. By offering this real world experience, we are hopeful that our dancers can use this opportunity to grow in many ways. Three pieces are chosen to be shared in the recital in June.
New Years Eve Dance Jam
This is a dance immersion day where our kids can take one, three, or six classes on New Year's Eve taught by our amazing guest artists! This is a great way to kick off your dancer's new year at HSSOD!
