A Note from the Director

We are so thankful to everyone who is working so hard with us to keep our kids doing what they love! We’ve had an awesome first month, and we are delighted to be dancing at the studio. Keep up the great work!

What’s up in October?

  • Anyone traveling to perform in our Broadway Showcase or at Disney World with us in 2021 needs to turn in their registration info/deposit to the office now. Deadline is Oct. 1st!
  • Read on to hear about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade performance in 2021! We want you to dance with us!
  • The NEW HSSOD Dance Festival is going to be amazing! Join us for two days of fabulous classes with guest artists. Classes are filling up so don’t delay. Register in the office.
Here’s to a great month!
Love, Marilyn

It's Costume Time!

We wanted to mention that we have started taking costume measurements. With the whole dance world ordering at the same time, it is always best to place our order as soon as possible! We have volunteers that are going around to each class to assist with our costume measurements.

  • Costume Fees are due by October 10th!
  • ages 3-6 - $55.00
  • ages 7 and up - $65.00

Please help us to place this order in a timely manner. With every passing day our costume order is delayed, it makes it that much harder for us to make sure that we get our costumes in time for pictures and recitals. We really appreciate your attention to this.

You can submit your costume payment HERE on the website or in the office located in studio 144. Before winter break, we will put together a costume book for your viewing pleasure! Thanks again!

Halloween Trunk or Treat

Join us on Halloween for our 3rd Annual Dancer Trunk or Treat!

We LOVE hosting this fun afternoon for our dance community! Families will be offering treats to our dancers in very decorated vehicles, there will be a chili cook off, and lots of games. There will be a cap this year on participants and all social distancing practices will be followed. Stay tuned for more information! Get your costume ready!

Holly Springs Christmas Parade

The date for the Holly Springs Christmas Parade is Saturday, Dec. 12th at 11am. The town has not made final decisions regarding the parade, so as soon as we know, we will let you know!

In the meantime, we are moving forward as if this tradition is still happening! Dancers of all ages are always welcome to participate in the parade. All HSSOD dancers will need to order one of our classic HSSOD red sweatshirts if they want to participate. Sweatshirts are available in studio 144 (office) to check for sizing.

Place your order with the office staff by November 14th! $18.00.

Updated Class Info!!

Due to the restrictions being lifted, we are thrilled to announce that we will be open for in person classes at the studio beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8th!! The Monday, Sept. 7th day (Labor Day) will be added to the schedule the week of Mon., Nov. 23rd as a make up day. Our virtual class schedule will end this Saturday, Sept. 5th. Anyone who is interested in remaining virtual should contact us immediately. Our new virtual season (for parents who choose this option) will begin as scheduled on Mon., Sept. 14th. We can’t wait to see our dancers next week! PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ ALL NEW GUIDELINES BELOW…

Let’s dance!!!

Welcome to the Holly Springs School Of Dance! We are so excited that you have chosen to have your dancer share in our 23rd season! We are committed to making every effort to have this be one of the BEST parts of your child’s life! We cannot thank you enough for the endless support, encouragement, and adaptability you’ve all shown. HSSOD has the BEST dance family!

*Of course, the safety of our dance community is our number one priority. With that in mind, please know that we will be following these guidelines…

HSSOD Love Guidelines – We are spreading love, not germs!

Be nice. Be kind. Be happy.

All dancers ages 5 and up will need to join our staff in wearing a mask for all classes. Additionally, please know that everyone will be required to wash or sanitize before entering the studio. Teachers will have their temperatures checked upon arrival to the studio.

Only wear/bring what you need for class. No dance bags, just water bottles. The water fountain will only be available for filling water bottles.

All dancers can be dropped off or walked to class by their parents, but parents must wait in their car. All lobbies will be closed, but you can still visit the office located in studio 144 if you have questions.

Dancers should plan on entering through the front door of the studio and exiting through the back door. The only exception is studio 132 where teachers will escort dancers out before the next class enters. Parents should meet dancers at the back of the studio at the end of class, or have older dancers meet them at a designated location. We will have staff located in the front and back of the building who will regularly be sanitizing door handles and helping anyone who needs assistance.

Since dancers cannot hang out in the lobby areas or outside of the studios in between classes, we are hoping that parents will take advantage of the beautiful field beside the studio during breaks.

Please respect our dance community by staying home if anyone in your household is showing symptoms of illness.

Please be patient with everyone you meet. We’ve all been through a lot, and showing extra loving kindness right now is so important.

HAVE FUN! With all precautions in place, we are confident that our dancers can safely continue to grow by doing what they love.

Know that we are here to support you! Our goal is to create a healthy and happy environment for our dance community. Always do what is best for your family!

* We will communicate through our monthly newsletter which comes out the first of each month. If you are not receiving the newsletter email, please email us with the email address you would like to receive it at and we will add you to the list.

*Let’s Get Social! We post daily to keep you up to date on special events, share inspiration, and give you reminders…

Dancin' Our Way to Costa Rica!
Help a Dancer!

Do you have a way that you could support someone in our dance family? We can share acts of kindness in a variety of ways. During what has been a very difficult time for many families, here are some ways you might be able to help….

  • Offer to donate gently used shoes or leotards to share with others.
  • Pay it forward; offer to pay for a costume or one month’s tuition for a struggling family.
  • Organize a carpool to lesson the burden of transportation.
  • Volunteer your services (props construction, sewing, graphic design work, working at events) to help dancers organizing events.
  • Pledge to say something positive to every dancer you come in contact with for a whole week. Who knows, it just might become a habit and kindness is contagious!
  • Be creative! We’re open to any suggestions!

We work hard to reach out to our community, but we also want to take care of each other! Thanks for your help!
